Hi all,

I found out something pretty cool today, that some of you will baulk at, but
I will tell nonetheless. :)

I happen to have a thing for MS peripherals, as they seem to do a good job
of them by and large. My current combo is a Flaming Bum mouse and an
IntelliSense BendyKeyboard ProStyle something or other. The one with the
buttons on top.

Anyway, it turns out that XFree4 supports these properly! Run xev, and start
pressing your extension buttons, and you'll see the messages pop up with the
right silly names: XF86Mail, etc. :D

So, I've configured Sawfish to run "gnome-terminal -x mutt" when it gets a
global XF86Mail event. Oooh, sweet. Next up, XMMS and my funky volume/sound
controls.

Ah, embrace and extend... ;)
