Im formatting a 70 gig device (go hardwar raid) which will
be used to store a database. As you may / may not know
MySQL (yes, we use that too) stores its data in only a handfull
of very large files.

For maximum performance i obviously want the largest block size
possible, which is only 4k =( I was hoping for 8k or more.

I am correct that if you want to store large files then large
block sizes are good? Is there any reason that 4k is the limit?
