>How much data can you fit on a CD? I have an .iso created with mkisofs >which is 695M but cdrecord says it takes up 798M and won't fit onto the >disk. Easy to remember: For standard "74 minute disks": 333000 blocks of 2048 bytes. Actually a teeny bit more, but close enough. The 700+ figure is before the error correction overhead is taken off. Also varies slightly depending on if you talking megabytes (10^6) or mebibytes (2^20). "80 minute disks" have 360000 blocks. http://www.fadden.com/cdrfaq/faq01.html#[1-5] http://www.fadden.com/cdrfaq/faq03.html#[3-8] -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://slug.org.au/lists/listinfo/slug
