Ugh. It *was* my Blue response that started this thread. Ick. I can blame
you for some of it too, Martin. ;)
Serious suggestions from me are Python and Ruby.
Python is well designed, and has a large audience. It spans bits and pieces
of functional, procedural and object-oriented code, but doesn't make an
issue of it.
Ruby is yet another language in the same area as Python, Tcl and others. You
could almost call it perky: The use of "!" and "?" for various functions are
good examples of this. Does it have an audience? Are there willing geeks?
