You should try 2.2.18, and enable the AGP drivers.

Make sure you rebuild nvidia-kernel from source whenever you build a new
kernel - especially if your AGP driver availablity changes - since AGP
support needs to be compiled into the module before the drivers can take
advantage of it.

I found on my Cel633 with a PCI TNT2M64, A timedemo on the demo1 would only
yield around 18fps however.

I've since replaced the TNT2M64 with an AGP GeForce2MX, which yields *much*
better results under Windows. [I haven't tested it under linux with Quake3,
but I suspect the increase would be roughly the same].

TNT2M64s are fairly slow cards to start with.  They are better than a
Voodoo2, but you'll do better with a propper TNT2, or a GeForce.
