I have a project that would entail streaming live video/audio at moderate
quality from a camera, via a dial up line to a server, thence via another
dial-up line to a client.

Ideally, the two dial-ups would be standard modems. Certainly the client
one would need to be. The client end would have to have audio in both
directions, but the video would only need to be camera to client.

An extension to this idea is "conferencing" the client end, ie, one source
of video, but several clients dialing in. If necessary, I might be able to
re-arrange it so that the video/audio signal was fed directly into the
server, although that would not be my first choice.

The audio is voice only, and doesn't require high quality.

Does anyone have any thoughts about doing this, or experience with it?

Regards, David.
