I read the debian docs at debian.org but couldn't see anything on this...

What I am trying to do is configure interfaces. The doco says use
/etc/init.d/network which on my 2.2r1 system doesn't appear to exist, only
/etc/init.d/networking is, which has a "ifup -a" line. This suggests that
I should add a line to /etc/network/interfaces but I haven't been able to
figure out the syntax of the file... ?!?

anyone want to hit me with the cluestick about that file??

later
