Hello Everyone,
This is the final announcement before the MacLUG meeting this
Saturday at Terry's place in Campbelltown. I must emphasize that
everything must "go" before the end of the week or be picked up on
the day. For all I know any of the hardware could end up going for
_$5_each_, so make sure you put a bid in.
Sparc Classic
The Sparc Classic would make a good desktop system running X Windows.
In addition the Classic is significantly cheaper than the Sparc10s
and we won't force you to buy the monitor so you can use your own,
making it even cheaper still. (Sun to PC converter incl.)
Value: $125 1 Sparc Classic 48Mb (keyboard and mouse, NO monitor)
NEC Monitors (nice monitors nuff said ;-)
Value: $150 17" NEC 5FG monitor | these both have PC
$50 14" NEC 4FG monitor | not Sun connectors
The Sun IPC is still available, whilst I would not recommend running
X Windows on this system, it would make acceptable small server.
Value: $75 Sparc IPC 8Mb (1 keyboard, NO mouse & NO monitor)
AUI networking port (no BNC or TP)
External Hard Disk Boxes
There are two external hard disk boxes with high-density SCSI ports
that have either a 100 or 400 Mb disk in them. As all the Sun Boxes
have high density connectors these would probably be the first choice
for people who want to add an additional hard disk to their system.
Value: $50 2 half-height external disk boxes
The six external full height boxes with low-density SCSI ports and
with hard disks of various sizes fitted, have not gone yet, and
unless the guys from FoE can get organized before the weekend then
these will have to be given out to the highest bidders.
As I have already said "For all I know any of the above hardware
could end up going for $5 each". But you must able to claim and or
pay for your hardware by the end of the week either by turning up on
Saturday or include the cost of having the hardware couriered/posted
to you.
