I have two Netcomm modems (actually one is their other brand -
Avtek) They are both the worst heaps of crap I have ever used.
They often take three or four calls to connect (fail in the
negotiation stage) and have other wierd quirks. Good luck getting
it to work under Linux. I have the Avtek on my Linux box (this
one) and the Netcomm internal on a Windows machine my daughter
uses.
As I said, good luck with your endeavour, but I personally have
found the elcheepo KTX and WebExcel externals far superior.
Stay well adn happy
