Hi,
What is the solution for this?
I am trying to copy files and directories from on place to another for
backup purposes I use the following command. Lately the source directory has
become rather large, which probably is the reason.
cp -puRvf ./* /backup
And I am getting this response:
bash: /bin/cp: Argument list too long
There is no problem, if I try copying smaller portions of the source with
something like:
cp -puRvf ./1* /backup
How can I overcome this. Why is cp limited? Is it a version bug? My version
is fileutils-4.0-1.
Please advise
