No offence, but this is hopelessly naive. Microsoft does not seek to
fairly compete, they seek to dominate markets with unfair and illegal
practices. The result is that all of us are faced with worse
software. Linux users are certainly not "worse than MS", as you put it,
and that suggestion on a LUG list is unlikely to endear you to many
readers.

Realise that many people here have seen software they liked come and go
because of unethical Microsoft practices. Others, like me, are forced to
use unstable, cruddy Microsoft products at work (or at home) because
Microsoft's practices have created a situation where you can't get
versions of applications for other operating systems. Microsoft does not
represent choice or competition. It represents the complete dominance of
the desktop OS space (and others) by crud and mediocrity. And it
represents acheiving that dominance by some quite unpleasant means.

So don't be suprised that many of us continue to find enjoyment in
Microsoft's discomfiture. And if you think that I'm worse than
Microsoft, well to me that's quite an insult, so why don't you go take a
<i'm sure you can guess this part>.

cheers,

Martin.
