I was really hoping that everyone would just ignore this little spat and
let it rest. Please do so.
Slug doesn't ban people unless they are a repeated problem and as a last
resort. You have a delete button use it.
The SLUG list is for posting requests for help with linux instalation,
maintenance, management, etc type problems and for the posting of help
on these problems.
Anything else is off-topic and belongs on the Slug-Chat list.
However, if you have "brownie points", then you get a bit more latitude.
You gain brownie points by helping people with their problems, helping
organise, run and present Fests, being a paid up member, etc, etc.
That is my interpretation of the loose rules, which as you can
appreciate are written on rubber sheeting.
Jobs do not belong on the list. There is the Linux Australia list for
linux jobs. That is the rule. Largely because most agencies were hiding
behind the door when the clue stick was handed out. However, good
sluggers can advertise their jobs here. No agencies. I also recommend
http://www.techstreet.com.au for agency free contracting and recruiting.
If someone annoys you, post directly to them. Do not CC to the slug
list, unless it is directly relevant to the rationale of the list.
