Hi,
I'm having trouble connecting to Bigpond (Big150 plan). At the beginning of the
year, I was able to connect without problems under Slackware 7.1. However, until a
couple of weeks ago, I hadn't connected under linux at all (to much work and play,
not enough time for linux :( ).
Anyway, I recently installed Mandrake 7.2 and have been unable to connect to the
net. Trying to connect under Slack7.1 also fails.
the output from kppp gives me:

Furthermore, I after looking at a pppd faq
(http://axion.physics.ubc.ca/ppp-linux.html) i having tried running the following
from the command line:
/usr/sbin/pppd /dev/ttyS1 57600 debug connect "/usr/sbin/chat -v '' AT OK
ATDT84480500 CONNECT '\d\c'"
This gives me the following output in the ppp log:

>From what I understand, BIGPOND isn't responding to the LCP requests to tell me how
to authenticate (CHAP,PAP) - Has anybody else had this problem? Anybody have any
idea's how to fix it??
any help would be *much* appreciated!
