this is "the definitive guide" since lamport wrote most of latex.
i went looking to buy my own copy of this and ended up buying "a guide
to LaTeX" (its at work, so i can't find out the authors).
the lamport book is very thin, i found this book had a lot more
discussion and practical solutions. it also covers (briefly) a few of
the popular packages and some docs on how to write your own. i would
recommend it over lamport's.
