No, SLUG does care. We simply weren't in a position to sell memberships
for a large portion of the year.

Actually the answer is no.

Surprising isn't it?

For the last two years we have no one with this mystical 'spread sheet talent'
sally forth and say "Yes, I'll be the Slug treasurer".

Instead it seems to be sort of a 'bum steer' job. This, I expect,
things to be different for a number reasons, amongst them:

        - we know where our new treasurer lives
        - he is also the treasurer for UNSW CompSoc

You should care. I presented a brief overview of what I thought was an
accurate summary of our finances at the AGM. We have/are in the process of
reviewing them as fast as possible and hope to have anproperly accurate
picture (in fact we must in order to re-submit an application to the
department of fair trades) by the end of the month.

Naturally this will be publically available; perhaps it should be
presented at next month's meeting? Or would our finances be too dry a topic?

A good question on membership expirary. When ou read the consitution,
hidden at <URL: http://www.slug.org.au/model.shtml> what does it say?

It certainly isn't crystal clear to me -- hence we are having a small
sub-committee look at clearing up ambiguities and making the constituion
simpler to comply with.

If you are interested in helping out perhaps you could email Chris Collins,
Craig McWhirter or Jeff Waugh your thoughts?

I'm looking forward to hearing further from you.
