Actually, I've looked into this myself. Recall that
the items you buy locally (IBM, Compaq et al) were
*also* manufactured overseas, and are *also* being
jacked up by the weakened dollar. VA are competitive
once you realise that the dollar does not chose
according to whom you buy from - it slugs all in the
field.

VA use DHL. A little pricey but the assumption is that
they are sending it by air. Hell, if you're paying for
a serious rig you find that shipping is an insignificant
cost compared to (say) going for a SCSI-RAID setup.

Australia is (still) the arse end of the Earth when
it comes to IT, my friend. Basically we have sweet
fanny adams on the yanks when it comes to living the
"new economy".
