Apart from my bog-standard answer of "Mandrake sucks bad", use it, if that floats your
boat. You'll probably find Mandrake, being a desktop distro, rather than a server
distro, include 2.4.x kernel, rather than 2.2.x.
Why run 2.4.x on a server yet, anyway?
