Just had to sort out a little problem with Samba that might save a few of
you some heartache.
When you copy 8.3 files from DOS/Winshit to Linux they come across in
UPPER case. However, the default case for new files in Samba smb.conf is
lower case.
If your program - Attache in this case - does a rebuild of the files then
it will create a new file with the same name as the old file, only this
time it converts the name from UPPER case to lower case, so you end up
with two files instead of just one, one of each case.
Now Winshit doesn't mind this, it will just grab the first file it finds
of either case and play happily with it.
It really is a good way to screw up an accounting system, so make sure
that you set the case statements in smb.conf to what you REALLY want.
