on this topic, have you (or anybody else) tried a program like
NetEnv, but is able to reconfigure your proxy servers etc. on
the fly, rather than at boot time? i usually suspend my laptop
when i leave home and take it to uni, so rebooting it is
inconvienient. i know about the programs that do it (divine
comes to mind), but i'm wondering if people have any
recommendations before i spend two days prodding all of them :)
