re original Tax office fax THE TAX OFFICE IS STRETCHING THE TRUTH They have not denied the fact that the XML is not used for the web transfer, this being an encrypted batch file, requiring you to install their MICROSOFT WINDOWS or Mac software to locally serve the XML further if you read the XML interface specification you will find it is illogical. XML implies open systems interface used over the web! THE TAX OFFICE DOES NOT PROVIDE A OPEN SYSTEMS INTERFACE WHAT'S WORSE I DO NOT THINK THEY UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE !!!!!! for open systems.... they should release the specification of the batch file, and logically also the tests to verify the data before a batch file is returned. not hide behind a smoke screen saying they are XML compliant When they do not logically use the concept. > ---------- Forwarded message ---------- > Date: Thu, 14 Jun 2001 18:49:18 +0000 > From: Stevan GILLMORE <[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To: OIC Members and other interested parties <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: [Job #675] N:The BAS & XML > > 08:09 Thursday 14 June 2001 REF: ZXAC2FN3 > > Hi - this e-mail > > A ATO, BAS & XML > B DEWRSB initiative Fri 29/06/2001 - Last early bird day Fri 15/06/2001 > C Next Steps > > A ATO, BAS & XML > > You may be interested in this e-mail received from the Australian Taxation Office > [ATO]: > > > Date sent: Tue, 12 Jun 2001 14:59:21 +1000 > > > > Dear Mr Gillmore > > > > I should point out to you where XML is used in the ATO. > > > > * XML is used in e-BAS documents > > > > * XML is used in ECRS Web which provides a manual means to intervene > > in registration, revocation and related events in the ATO PKI > > > > * XML is going to be used in the project that provides self help > > functionality for organisations with an ABN to view and change their ABN > > record in the ABR.
