Hi, I have recently upgraded from RedHat 6.0 on a 100Mhz Pentium to RedHat 7 on a 1GHz Pentium III. It now runs like a dog - quite regularly there is a pause when typing at the command line when nothing else running. It seems to be more prevalent when the machine has been up for a few hours. "top" reveals a task called "kupdate" to be using 99.5% of the CPU at these times. Does anyone know what's going on and how to correct it?
