You are invited to the 2600 Australia Seminar Series, to be
held in Sydney on Saturday, 14th July (approx one week from today).
Sessions begin at 1pm and run till approximately 5pm. There is a
suggested donation of $10 to cover the cost of the (hired) room.

Speakers this month include:
----------------------------

* Umar Goldeli, A technical introduction to Checkpoint Firewall-1 (Part 1)

Umar will begin with a quick overview of different types of
firewalls, followed by a few mins on top level / border network
design. Then comes FW-1. An introduction to operation, usage etc.

* Kevin Littlejohn, An overview of ISP billing systems

Kevin will begin with an overview of the different ways of collecting
data for billing purposes (eg RADIUS, switch/SNMP, *nix gateway,
netflow) which will naturally involve some discussion of network
design issues. The presentation will then move onto combining your
measurement choices with BGP, the impact of asymmetrical routing etc.
Depending on audience interest and time, there may be room for
discussion of issues relating to monthly billing, pro-rata'ing
changes to account plans, user management/reporting.

* Umar Goldeli, A technical introduction to Checkpoint Firewall-1 (Part 2)

In the second hour, Umar will carry out an installation of FW-1 on a
pair of Sun servers and setup a simple demonstration network.

Location:
---------

University of Technology, "Building 6" on Harris Street (near Central
Station), room 6.4.17 (Building 6, Level 4, Room 17). Open from Midday
onwards, seminars begin at 1pm. $10 suggested donation, bookings for < 5
people not required.

We have prepared a new map showing the exact location of the seminars
relative to Central Station and The Crystal Palace (2600 Sydney meeting
location, may be familiar to some). Once you're on Harris Street (please
print the map and refer to it), locate the smaller of the two sets of
stairs leading into Building 6. At the top of the stairs, a large
internal stairwell should be visible. Go up one level and follow the
signs to room 17 on this level.
