i'm running software RAID0 + reiserfs on 2.4.2 at the moment
with zero problems. (daily backup is a good insurance policy,
of course.) there are many people on the reiserfs list using
2.4.x with software RAID5 and RAID1 with no problems.
if you are running the 2.2 kernels, though, stay away from all
software RAID + reiserfs except for RAID0. RAID1/RAID5 +
reiserfs -> data corruption on 2.2.
i'm not sure if the same applies to XFS. i'm reasonably
confident that XFS + RAID(0|1|5) works fine, though. (Jeff?)
