Okay, here's the problems with Google and the new archives:
* The link above is for April 2000, which is no longer in the SLUG machine's
archive - some of the earlier months were just copies of Progsoc's mhonarc
pages, and didn't have mailboxes. To do a proper import, I've used
mailboxes only. If anyone has older mailboxes (Terry, this could be you),
I'd love to get my hands on some to import them.
* The previous archives had a "current" link at the URL level, which is a
known index killer - your current always changes, so it's better to do
show what the most recent information is at the display level. There are a
lot of these in Google, and they always break, month after month.
* The new archives are a total rebuild from the mailbox files, which
unfortunately breaks most of the URLs, but was pretty unavoidable.
The good thing is that Google will be reindexing our site as soon as
possible -> it's nice having friends there to pull strings. ;)
Of course, you can always use the outrageously cool new indexer on the site
itself. :)
