Hi Howard,

Not that I know of, but back in my GNOME using days I had an application
(mtv) that would always start in desktop 2 (top right if you have a
2 by 2 screen although KDE calls this desktop 3 which has taken me about
a month to get used to). No matter from which desktop I started it, it
would turn up in desktop 2. Anyway I finally got around to looking at it's
config file and it turns out I was asking for a starting (x,y) position where
x was greater than the width of the screen and so what mtv did (i think)
was go from desktop 1 and position it over onto desktop 2. I think this
was an mtvp thing and not a standard X thing.

I've just tried a few -geometry arguments to xterm but it always seems to
create it in the current desktop, but I could just be trying the wrong
things.

Good luck,
Stuart.
