I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for linux compatible webcams, or rather, webcams that you can actually write applications for.
I've always been somewhat interested in real time video type stuff, and I'd like to have a go at hacking on a webcam motion tracking / telepresence type application, but I'll needa webcam that I can get access to in code, to pull the stream from. Most uses of webcams seem to just be "grab a snapshot, put it in a directory" type apps, I'm looking for something more than that.
