Brahms reputedly once had to play the piano part of a violin sonata
one semitone higher throughout to accomodate a hard to tune violin.

"Perfect" pitch makes me think the following exchange could have occurred...

Sydney Morning Herald: Why are you interested in perfect pitch, Conrad?
Conrad: Well I've already got the perfect Operating System.
