Hi all,

I just recently upgraded my kernel from 2.4.2 to 2.4.9.

When my pcmcia service tries to start up I get the message:

    ds: No socket drivers loaded!

I had a look at google, and it seems to be a common enough problem with
kernels above 2.4.3. Problem is I couldn't see any references to the
fix (if there is one)

It all works OK (same config) when I boot with a 2.4.2 kernel.

The system is a Toshiba 2520CDS laptop and uses the i82365 module. I am
fairly certain that this is the problem: when I try to insmod i82365 it
tells me:

    init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.

Under 2.4.2, the Ints used is 10 and the IO port 3e0. If I try to force
these values using the i82365 parameter settings, I still get no joy.

Any similar experiences ?

Any ideas on where to look to sort this out?

Regards,

Andrew E.
