It means that the module does not export a valid license symbol, and
therefore 'taints' the kernel making it not-totally GPL. It should not,
however, prevent the module from loading... it certainly doesn't for me. I'd
look for some other reason why it is not loading.
Nothing in /var/log/messages and /var/log/syslog ?
