At Uni, it was as much a rite of passage as accidentally sending the binary
you'd compiled to the printer instead of the Pascal source file. 

I find it's generally a good idea to disable the terminal bell anyway, both
the lessen the impact of mistakes like this and also to stop people from going
insane when you're using vi and hitting Esc or tab completing in bash.
