I've a much better idea.  It seems that "+" is quite valid within the 
username portion of the email address.

So I now whenever I have to supply details to sites asking for an email 
address, I specify "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" (unless it's the Big 
Brother or Triple M web sites, in which case I usually specify 
[EMAIL PROTECTED]), and filter on everything after the "+".
