Ok, thought I'd better start a new thread since this is no longer about Ximian packages...
When upgrading from Potato to Woody/Sid, how does apt/dpkg deal with the kernel? I know it's 2.4.x there but what happens to any kernel changes you've made? Will they be lost or can the kernel be updated later? I ask because I have had a lot of problems with trying to compile kernels and having non-existent modules hang my system on reboot forcing me to reinstall (though I think I can avoid doing that now). I also have a winmodem that works when you can compile the module but I am forever having problems with mismatched header errors. -- ************************* * Simon Wong * * * * <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * * * ************************* -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://lists.slug.org.au/listinfo/slug
