Remind me to give you the keepalive script I wrote. It's shellscript that 
backs off exponentially with the redials so it will not keep trying every 
couple of minutes. Gets up to 6 hours between tries then starts at every 2 
minutes again. Used particularly when RH7.1 broke their pppwatch setup.
