Hello SLUGs,

Apologies for sending this information again, I heard this morning that
your group has something like 600 members so wanted to make a further
push.

A large part of the reason that Catalyst is running this training week
(see info below) is to get more activist geeks involved in the project,
currently we have four hardcore geeks with way too much to do working on
Catalyst and our projects sydney.indymedia.org and active.org.au

We are all volunteers and Catalyst is non-profit, to find out more about
us www.cat.org.au

If you can help out with the training or would like to do some of the
courses/get involved with Catalyst write to me [EMAIL PROTECTED]

http://www.cat.org.au/catskills/

Catalyst presents a week of workshops on computers, web design and
development, programming, databases, the internet, Linux and lots more.

>From total beginners to geek gurus - something for everyone!

Catalyst is the all-volunteer community access technology organisation
that gave the world the 'Active' software which runs the global
indymedia.org network of news sites.

These training courses, free or by donation, are for people interested in
developing genuine community/activist web projects.

We are offering this training first to activists, people doing stuff for
positive social change.

Places in most workshops are limited to ten. Though we ask little or no
money for them, places in them are valuable. Because in the past it has
seemed too easy for people to devalue a donation-only course, we must ask
that if you book, you respect the generosity of our skilled volunteer
teachers by committing to your bookings as if you had pre-paid their full
market worth.

If money is an issue for you please don't let that stop you, write to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and we'll work something out.

cheers,
Colene
