Here's a curly1,

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this scenario:

Squid running on linux. Used by a win2000 network for cache. Win2K users
use DHCP to allocate IP address.

I switch on log_fqdn in squid. (Fully Qualed Domain Name)

Will it resolve the users name somehow or just dump an IP address of the
local PC.

ie the user is not logged onto the linux box so how would squid know
that ip 192.168.1.212 is 'fred' on a win2k box.

These guys wish to track who went where and looked at what. Something
Squid can help with.

It's not an option to go samba PDC.

Can it be done?

Supplementary for a bonus 10 pts: Good/Better/Best squid reporting
tools. Calamaris? SARG? Webalizer?

TIA

Stuart
