I've just done a new Suse install on an old HP 266 and just for fun selected ReiserFS.
All went perfectly well except the disks thrash like crazy and it seems to take ages to do anything much. Starting YaST took almost a minute. Two disks - one with swap and / ... the other with /usr I've installed RH7.1 on the same box (ext2) with no problem.
