Anybody got a spare ISA network card? It beats using PPP over 115200bps.

I've got an old Compaq Prolinear 4/100 which is a 486DX-100 with 16Mb of
RAM and on-board 1M video card. The machine has RedHat 6.2 running on it
just fine with 2 x 500Mb hard disks and was previously used as a firewall.

I'm just seeing whether this is feasible to use as an Xterm. The RAM is
proprietary and doesen't use ordinary 30 pin SIMMS (the board sticks in
something resembling an AGP port although it's definitely not AGP).

The purpose for this is to give my young nephew something to play with
since he seems to have fun with Xpaint. He's recently turned 4.

I've toyed with the concept of "Toddler-mail" in my head. You set them up
with a few icons of people they know on the desktop plus icons generated
from images they do in Xpaint, then they drag the image to the face of the
person they want to send it to. On the receiving end the image turns up on
the desktop but somehow connected with the face of the person sending it.
Completely GUI, no text. (Sorry Rick). Of course I've no idea what I've
gotten myself into.
