Before those of you go into great hysterics.   What Ross is talking 
about is theoretically possible,  practically impossible.   A harddisk 
that has been in use for a while has so many jumps about it is difficult 
to simply string a file together if it is simply deleted without any 
supporting trace if it is clear text jumping from sector to sector.  If 
you use Open Office 6 whose files are gzipped then you would have a 
binary file that is not imediately readable.

The possibility of retrieving something overwritten once or twice has 
been proven, it would take a fair amount of patience.   Most companies 
that I would call paranoid only require a double erase of the harddisk. 
  Tapes they require to be destroyed.

Unless you are ASIO,  dont worry about it much.
