Surprise, surprise - it worked ! After printing out the KERNEL HOW-TO and mucking about with /etc/lilo.conf I've got a working 2.4.14 kernel on hdb - but am no wiser about how to use it to install the Deb 2.2r4 CD onto hdc ... it does not recognise Promise Technology Ultra100 TX2 controllers.
At the moment it looks as if I might be using RH 7.2 on hdc as a server and commercial base. I'd prefer to use Deb but unless someone can enlighten me on the above, I'll soon be running a triple-boot, three-system machine. Cheers, Adam.
