Hi All, While my modem is currently dialing my ISP, and at times connects, it often disconnects just after detecting the carrier, prior to the carrier providing the prompt. I have read my modem manual, and the KPPP handbook (as it had a table of medem commands).
When I try to dial in with KInternet of WVdial, the modem is correctly initialised , then it dials the ISP, the carrier is detected and it then states it is waiting for a prompt. 50% of the time the connection fails here. It is almost like the carrier is to slow to provide the prompt, yet I can't find any modem init command that alters the time it waits for this prompt. I have tried various modem commands (AT&C0; ATS30=1; ATS9=20) but these three all relate to carrier detection, not the carrier response. I am at a loss. Has anyone else suffered this? Is it my modem or the ISP (I have tried this with Dingo Blue and Goanna)? Can anything be done to alter this probem if it is my modem? I am sorry to be a trouble but I am getting frustrated dialing four times to connect.
