I suppose you might get it to install if you use the text installer. You'll probably have to reserve HEAPS of space for a swap partition. You wont have much space for applications or Xfree so you'd probably only be able to use the text console. You might be able to cut the kernel down to a slim streamlined version that only includes exactly what you require like ide disk support, floppy support, cdrom support and network support. The laptop might be useful for a simple network probing tool if you just install some simple network apps like tcpdump, nmap, nessus, etc.

To those familiar with Redhat Linux 7.1, I was intending to install this version on my laptop- it's an old piece of hardware, an Acer Note Light. It houses a Pentium 1 at 100MHz, 1 MB DRAM and a 774 MB hard disk.

Now is it a feasible idea for me to install Redhat Linux 7.1 on this laptop? Are there any alternatives, any suggestions?
