We've just installed a few SUN machines, which I will be administering, 
and I'd have to say that Solaris hasn't progressed from the mid 80's as 
far as the install / configuration routines are concerned.

I can't see what Linux on Sparc hardware wouldn't be a reasonably 
secure answer to your problem (maybe Rachael Polanski, Solaris 
Administrator par excellence, would have some thoughts on this ??)
