Well, I just popped into everythinglinux today and picked up a GENIUS
Netscroll Optical USB mouse and it's great!

Haven't fiddled with suspend but I know it will work much better.

My previous problems were definately complicated by using the "IMPS/2"
(I also now know that, that isn't case sensitive) protocol when the
built-in pointers (touchpad and stick) did not support it but the
external PS/2 mouse did.

I'll suss out gpm soon too.
