Ihave the same (unresolved) problem on a Libretto with PCMCIA floppy and no 
CD - it boots the first floppy (SuSE 7.3), and then prompts you to insert 
the second so it can load the PCMCIA drivers to allow it to read floppies...

I'll leave it to you to work out the humor / logic in that scenario...

I'd suggest you make the installation disk set, oncluding the modules disk, 
and start from there - at least then you have a fighting chance of getting 
Linux to recognise the USB CD by loading the driver from the floppy.
