OK,

Advocavy and MS bashing should be on -chat, however this is a little
different.

How many times have you heard "We'd use Linux if it has MS Office and/or
IE"......

The wait is over. The guys at Codeweavers (www.codeweavers.com) have
come up with a new program.

I've been using Crossover (crossover.codeweavers.com) to allow things
like Quicktime/WMP/Wordviewer etc in linux (with plugins to
mozilla/konqueror). It works really well but only helps with creating a
nice browsing experience.

Now they have brought out 'Crossover Office'
(http://codeweavers.com/about/press_releases/?id=20020327) which allows
Linux users to MS Office, IE and even Lotus Notes without a MS Windows
licence.

This is BIG news. For only $55USD, you can get people switched over.
I've not tried it yet, but based on the other products Codeweavers are
knocking out, its going to be good.

Yes, you have to pay for it. However the money goes into supporting the
WINE project and (if its like their other prodcts) this is a VERY
polished bit of software.

I will be trying this out in the near future, I'll let you know how I
get on.
