Actually I've got the reverse problem. My S3 card works/ed beautifully under both Red Hat 7.1, and now Mandrake 8.2, but my Win98SE partition wont recognise it, I can't even reinstall.
I could use this as a reason not to use Windows, but I wouldn't accept the same argument for stopping using Linux. At least in Linux, you can use the command line and do most everything.
