Hi Slugs, Just setup a new box with Mandrake 8.2 on intel for a customer. All OK except the first virtual host I've setup won't work. Have VHosting working fine on a RH7 box.
The browser error is... You don't have permission to access / on this server. httpd.conf says... <VirtualHost 203.35.247.10> DocumentRoot /mnt/vol1/www/legionofmary ServerName www.legionofmary.org.au DirectoryIndex index.html UserDir /mnt/vol1/www/legionofmary </VirtualHost> does not seem to matter what permissions on the directory i have. currently with drwxrwxrwx nobody nogroup. (i know this is way open) have changed owner to apache and root and a user. still no luck. even put the same in the Vhosts.conf file. still same error. there is no .htaccess file in this directory or above. error log says... "client denied by server configuration" deleted and recreated virtual server. still no go. google hits say the error means the directory index is missing or a file called index.html is missing. however there IS an index.html file in the directory with rwxrwxrwx permissions. still no go. I'm setting this up via webmin too if that is any help. any clues? Ben -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://lists.slug.org.au/listinfo/slug
