Yup.

Try rebooting and using the following command line

linux mem=96M

If loggin on and running top then shows your 96 meg, edit /etc/lilo.conf
and add the following line

append = "mem=96M"

Somewhere in the top {global} section, then save the file and re-run lilo
to make sure it re-writes the boot sector.
