Hi Slugsters, I made the unfortunate mistake of geting a winprinter - and before you all slag me telling me I shouldn't have and it'll never work.....
I found a suggestion that Mandrake 8.1/8.2 comes with a commerical Lexmark drivers package on one of it's commerical installation CDs. At this stage I would like to verify this. As I bought the printer - I feel a nice someone could send me the drivers in binary form - because I've licensed them in a way (by buying a "paperweight"). The drivers arn't available because they are not GPLed and lexmark doesn't want to release the source. Therefore linux vendors can't offer it "free" without commercial license like everything else in their download packages. So if lexmark want's to release the drivers only in binary form they wil have to support them right? and that's just too much for a $30USD printer. Sigh. Here's the link that rumors that these drivers exist: http://pghlinux.bravepages.com/linux-z22.html Here are some comments from lexmark why they are not giving the drivers out for free: http://mandrakeforum.org/article.php?sid=545&lang=en Has anyone had any success with the user contributed Z13 and lexmark offical drivers on a Z12?
