Richard Mandrake uses cups for printing by default. I think urpmi cups will install everything you need
You can actually configure printers via the web interface http://localhost:631 You'll need samba configured on your Mandrake box, and be able to access the windows box through samba on your network. smbclient -W workgroup -L windowsbox -U username The command printtool (a link to printerdrake) should work too, and actually (on Mandrake 8.1) checks for installed packages, and asks to install them if they aren't installed. That should point you on the right track Chris On Wed, 24 Apr 2002 10:31:27 +0100 "Richard Hayes" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Dear list, > > I have just installed Mandrake 8.2 and need to print to printer attached to > windows box. > > Redhat has a printtool that allowed the configuration of the remote printer. > > I can not find the documentation on how to use printerdrake to set it up. > > Can anyone point in the right direction? > > regards, > > > -- > Richard Hayes > Talent Internet > http://www.talent.com.au > Tel: (02) 9439 8300 Fax: (02) 9439 8327 Mob: 0414 618 425 > ABN 94 002 775 215 > -- > SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group - http://slug.org.au/ > More Info: http://lists.slug.org.au/listinfo/slug -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://lists.slug.org.au/listinfo/slug
